ToughStuff Radio Connectors replace the need for D-Cell batteries commonly used to power radios in developing countries, making it possible to listen to the radio for free!
These connectors work together with ToughStuff's solar panel or rechargeable power pack. They can be used with all small appliances using 1 - 4 D-Cell batteries and eliminate the need for environmentally damaging disposable batteries.
By connecting a radio to the output of either the solar panel or the rechargeable power pack, and inputting an active radio connector in place of a normal 1.5V D size battery you can use the radio with the power of the active radio connector. A passive radio connector can then be used in conjunction with the active connector to create an output of 3V, as if two D size batteries were in use.
The passive radio connectors can only be used in a radio with an active radio connector, a switch on the active radio connector is then manually changed to respresent how many passive radio connectors are connected with it.
Active radio connectors can be used with up to a maximum of 3 passive radio connectors and provide up to 6V, just like 4 D size batteries connected in a series to power up a radio.
