Organised by sustainable-energy charity Ashden, ToughStuff lamps were there to light the way through a darkened exhibition room of a London gallery.
Highlighting "the subtle but far-reaching ways the lack of electricity affected people's lives", visitors using the lamps could see the photos on the walls giving them a glimpse of what it would be like for the 1.5billion people who have to do menial and vital tasks without light.
